Brendan's Irish Scroll Volume One and Two Combined and 2 CDs. This spiral bound book combines Brendan's two volumes of the Irish Scroll, Brendan shares many of his own tunes as well as his preferred versions of traditional tunes and old tunes that he learned from legendary musicians. Some of those tunes would be forgotten but for this volume and Brendan bringing them back. The combined volumes contain over 340 tunes, including jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes, O’Carolan tunes and, of course, reels. Included with this collection are two CDs with 52 tunes where Brendan shares a sampling of his style, ornamentation, and variations. After all, to really learn a tune, one has to listen to it played by someone who really knows it.
Dan Neely of the Irish Echo says: Here, he’s presented many brilliant rare and well-known tunes (albeit in the rarest of settings) learned on his journeys, as well as several newly-composed tunes taken directly from their composers. It’s spectacular stuff. “The Irish Scroll” is an excellent collection of tunes. Again, it’s recommended for serious fiddle students, but also for anyone interested in digging into the lived experience of musician of Mulvihill’s caliber. Great stuff all around. In limited supply, The Journey CD: Recorded in 2016 in Barcroft Community House, Brendan's "long awaited solo CD, the Journey, is a masterful, impeccable performance of some of his favourite tunes. Brendan, the best living legend of Irish fiddlers, plays unaccompanied with great lift, lyricism, and lilt the likes of which you have never heard, a hallmark of his unique style and spontaneous presentation. Every tune played exemplifies that Irish music was truly written for dancing. It is hard to believe that many of his selections were written over a century ago. His personal innovations and stylistic runs make these tunes sound timeless as if they were freshly composed. The tunes are approached with whimsical excitement, but relaxing tempo akin to being home at a private Sunday afternoon kitchen session by the cooker. The picture on the CD is a quietly spoken memorial to his close friend and fiddler, Fr. Gerry Creedon, a local parish pastor, whom we recently lost, and nephew of Seán Ó Ríada.” By Donnchadh Ó hArrachtáin
